An important step by Magda El Roumi after the Al-Rassi tragedy… Rehabilitation of the “Death Road”

Actress Magda El Roumi pledged to rehabilitate the international road between Lebanon and Syria. This step came weeks following the tragic accident that killed the artist, George El Rassi.

In an interview with “Sky News Arabia”, Magda’s business manager, Awad Al-Roumi, confirmed that on Wednesday, he will “launch the road”, starting from the point that killed George Al-Rassi, whose car collided with a cement separator, at the Masnaa border point.

The rehabilitation of the road will extend to the entrances to Anjar, where warning signs and lights have been installed to avoid accidents.

Awad explained that “the initiative and funding to rehabilitate the road came from the office of Mrs. Magda El Roumi, and under the supervision of the Engineering Regiment in the Lebanese Army, where the artist’s office ensured the implementation of the road to prevent the recurrence of accidents.”

He said, “Wednesday, the road will be ready and safe for everyone following it has been rehabilitated. New lights and signals have been installed at a distance of 200 meters to warn drivers of the danger, and a reflector has been installed and all precautions have been taken to avoid traffic accidents.”

On the other hand, the Al-Rassi family thanked the artist, Magda Al-Roumi, for sponsoring the rehabilitation of “The Path of Death”.

Actress Nadine Al-Rassi dedicated a message of thanks to Magda through her pages on social networking sites, saying: “I and the Al-Rassi family a thousand greetings and thanks to our dear and dear sister Magda Al-Roumi and the Lebanese army. With your blood, my brother, the path of death has become a road of transit.”

George Al-Rassi died in the early hours of Saturday morning, August 27, following he was involved in a traffic accident on the road between Syria and Lebanon, where his car hit a roadblock on his way back from Damascus.
