An important statement from MOH for parents of children from one day to 5 years old

The World Health Organization also confirmed that Egypt is completely free of the disease in 2006, and despite that, the ministry launches annual national campaigns to increase the immune status of children under five years of age and to raise immunity among children coming from countries where there is a circulation of the polio virus. , in order to preserve Egypt free of disease.

In this context, Dr. Amr Qandil, head of the preventive medicine sector at the Ministry of Health, said that the vaccination will be carried out through a group of fixed teams in health offices, health units, train stations, medical centers, major squares, subways, buses, gathering places, and next to mosques, churches, clubs, markets and public parks. The head of the preventive medicine sector also explained that the expanded vaccination program aims to provide ten types of routine vaccinations for children, vaccinations for travelers, and seasonal flu vaccinations, in light of the ministry’s endeavor to preserve the public health of citizens, noting the need to work to increase the number of vaccinations provided to citizens through the program. Expanded vaccinations, pointing to the implementation of the program in all governorates of the Republic.

The head of the preventive medicine sector referred to the continuous training of all health teams on vaccination work in health units, which number more than five thousand units in all governorates, in addition to training the concerned teams on surveillance work.
