A statement issued by the media office of the Minister of Social Affairs in the caretaker government, Hector Hajjar, on the “Aman Program”, indicated that “following the number of Lebanese families benefiting from the Aman program during the year 2022 reached 76,000 families benefiting from cash financial assistance in dollars per month for a full year.”

The statement added, “Given the difficult economic conditions the country is going through, and as a result of the work that we have done in coordination with the Minister of Finance, the World Bank Group, the World Food Program and the central unit for managing the “Aman Program” in the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, and following the approval of His Excellency Prime Minister Najib Mikati, the benefits for these families will be extended for an additional 6 months.

He continued, “These families will receive one payment for the months of January and February 2023, starting from March 15, 2023, provided that the transfers continue monthly until they receive an additional 6 full months.”

The statement stressed that, “In addition to the renewal of old beneficiaries, the implementation of the Aman program is ongoing to target 74,000 new families. Therefore, the Ministry of Social Affairs’ team, through its inspectors and coordinators, in cooperation with the World Food Program, will organize home visits to Lebanese families who had previously registered on the support platform. distributed over all Lebanese territory.

And the statement concluded, “These visits will begin during April 2023 and will continue for a period of 5 months. After the home visit, these families will undergo an automated evaluation process to select the poorest among them to benefit from a one-year safety program with retroactive effect from January 2023, provided that The first group will be paid at the end of May 2023.
