In 2023, An Giang tourism industry aims to welcome 8 million domestic and foreign tourists, of which, the number of guests staying at standard hotels, motels and inns is estimated at 700,000.

In the coming time, An Giang tourism industry will focus on promoting the image of An Giang tourism and people on the mass media and social networks; implementing tourism development cooperation activities between An Giang and the Cluster of cooperation and tourism development in the west of the Mekong Delta; tourism development cooperation program between Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities of the Mekong Delta.

Mr. Le Van Phuoc, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of An Giang province said that in the coming time, An Giang will strengthen cultural and tourism cooperation with Dong Thap province. The province focuses on building typical tours and tourist routes, connecting the unique tourist attractions of the Mekong Delta.

In 2022, An Giang tourism industry welcomes more than 7.3 million visitors and tourists, up 122% over the same period and reaching 159% compared to the 2022 plan. In which, there are 8,000 international visitors, increased by 250% over the same period and more than doubled compared to the whole year plan.

Total revenue from tourism activities is estimated at more than 4,600 billion dong, up 114% over the same period and reaching 153% compared to the whole year plan.

In 2022, the number of visitors to An Giang will increase thanks to the fact that the whole country has opened its doors to international visitors and the situation of the COVID-19 epidemic is effectively controlled. In order to actively welcome tourists to An Giang to increase, from the beginning of the year, An Giang province reopened tourism activities under new normal conditions.

The province plans to implement tourism development cooperation activities between An Giang and the cluster of cooperation and tourism development in the West of the Mekong Delta; participating in the tourism development cooperation program between Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta in 2022.
