Unica, that’s a clear name. This Ferrari is a unique copy, what the brand calls a “one-off”. From a vehicle in the range, in this case the F8 Tributethe manufacturer has designed a tailor-made model for a client who we imagine to be wealthy and deserving (in other words, a very good client).
The exterior look is completely revised, to the point that it is impossible to recognize the F8 (whose production has just been stopped). While one-offs play the nostalgia card with nods to old models, the SP48 opts for a modern, almost conceptual look.
It differs from the F8 by its arrow-shaped bow. The optics go up less and the gills for the brakes have been repositioned below. Among the striking elements are the ventilation grilles with multiple holes that seem to be drilled into a solid volume.
To design them, Ferrari used procedural parametric modeling and 3D prototyping techniques. This “small holes” effect is found at the rear and on the roof, with a gradient pattern from black to red. On the SP48, the refined side glazing is one with the windscreen.
A gill following the glazing made it possible to reduce the size of the side openings. The rear window has been removed, giving way to an almost full engine cover, made of carbon fiber. At the rear, the four round lights have been replaced by lights that form a thin strip.
If the exterior changes enormously, the dashboard remains that of the F8 (according to what says Ferrari, which did not publish a photo inside). The vehicle still benefits from specific upholstery, with laser-perforated black Alcantara. The holes repeat the effect of those in the exterior grilles, revealing an orange/red fabric, a nod to the color of the bodywork.
The engine is the same as the F8, namely a 720 hp V8. The price of this model has unsurprisingly remained secret.
