An expanded meeting tomorrow of opposition deputies in preparation for Thursday’s session and 6 positives that pave the way for a presidential breach

It has not yet been confirmed that the sixth plenary session of the House of Representatives will be held next Thursday, which is dedicated to electing the President of the Republic. Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has not yet called for it, amid the belief that he will direct it today or tomorrow at the latest if he decides to proceed with the series of weekly periodic sessions as a whole Thursday.

In preparation for this session, the opposition deputies called for an expanded meeting to be held tomorrow with the participation of deputies from the opposition party group and the change-making bloc, following a series of bilateral and tripartite meetings that took place in the period following the meeting of the 27 deputies regarding two weeks ago.

Well-informed parliamentary sources told Al-Jumhuriya that what is proposed for tomorrow’s meeting is not related to coordinating positions on parliamentary work, and not with regard to the session to elect the president because it is impossible to agree on electing candidate Michel Awad, but rather in order to record a position on any legislative session before the completion of the parliament. His mission is to elect the new president of the republic.

The fifth positive element is that Lebanon has transformed, in one form or another, into an oil country, and the specialists agree that institutional regularity, the initiation of the required reforms, and the setting of financial priority lead to a rapid improvement of the situation, because Lebanon’s area is small and its budget is limited, and most of what is required is adherence to the path A clear reformer, and this path will be sufficient to extricate Lebanon from its financial crisis.
