An ex-employee and sports agent allegedly embezzled 15 million from FN Herstal: 3 administrators “invited” to resign

Following the embezzlement of more than 15 million euros discovered at FN Herstal, three of its administrators were pushed out, the newspapers L’Echo and Le Soir reported on Thursday.

Philippe Claessens, ex-CEO of FN Herstal, as well as Jean-Sébastien Belle (labeled PS) and Laurent Levaux (labeled MR), respectively chairman and chairman of the audit committee of FN Herstal, were pushed out by the Walloon Region, the sole shareholder of the arms manufacturer via Wallonie Entreprendre (WE).

WE’s board of directors met for a long time and decided to “invite” the three managers to resign voluntarily. It is not a question of fault strictly speaking, but rather of “moral responsibility”, it is estimated on the side of WE, which will also be a civil party in this case.

One of these administrators, namely Laurent Levaux, has already replied that there was no question for him of resigning, still according to L’Echo and Le Soir. “It would be a pure scandal and it would damage my reputation and that of my company”he believes.
