The government will allocate an envelope of 400 million euros to road hauliers, which will be added to the measures of the resilience plan announced by the government to minimize the impact of soaring energy prices, announced on Friday 18 March their professional organizations.

“A global envelope of 400 million euros will now be allocated to companies in the sector according to their number of vehicles and their tonnage”, wrote in a joint press release the National Federation of Road Carriers (FNTR) and The TLF Union.

520,000 vehicles affected

This aid, negotiated at the Ministry of Transport following Jean Castex’s announcements on Wednesday, will be “paid quickly” and concerns 520,000 vehicles: it will go from 200 euros for light commercial vehicles to 1,000 euros for coaches and 1,300 euros for road tractors, they specified.

In addition, the Minister of Transport has undertaken to intervene with the authorities organizing mobility so that public contracts relating to collective passenger transport can “benefit from intermediate revisions taking into account changes in fuel prices”, specified in a separate statement OTRE, another organization of carriers. The Ministry of Transport confirmed these measures, without further details.

The FNTR and the Union TLF “welcome” this announcement “and will ensure that its implementation is immediate and simple for companies, and will remain vigilant on the proper application of the other measures of the resilience plan”, according to their press release.

The OTRE “welcomes this agreement”, even if all the problems have not been resolved, and indicates “cancel its mobilization of March 21 in the regions”. Drivers had taken part in recent days in the demonstrations and blockades of fuel depots to protest once morest rising energy prices.
