She pointed out that the symptoms of poisoning begin with relaxation in the joints and muscles, nausea and headache. In the case of concentrated poison, the condition reaches death after the victim enters a complete coma if he is not treated quickly.

She also added that the poison of this fish is of the type “tetradotoxin” and is concentrated in 3 different places of its body, which are under the skin, near the viscera and next to the marrow, and the liver of this fish is very toxic. She also noted the accumulation of toxic substances in the fish’s teeth due to the decomposition of its food, which includes a type of toxic green algae.
The directorate also mentioned that this fish is considered one of the aggressive fish that eats small fish and larvae, pointing out that some citizens are tempted by the large liver of that fish and eat it with food, which puts their lives at imminent danger.
The authorities promise
She explained that there are some sellers trying to clean and skin the fish and prepare it for cooking, but they fail to remove the poisonous glands from it, which causes immediate death immediately after eating it.
In addition, the authorities warned and threatened some traders who skinned the fish and sold it in the form of fillets to hide its features, so that citizens would not be able to know its type, exposing them to criminal responsibility and imprisonment.
