An Egyptian artist who suddenly disappeared for 17 years… appeared with a rare disease

After an absence of 17 years, the Egyptian artist Amr Mohamed Ali appeared for the first time to tell the reason for his disappearance during that period and talk about its details.

The young artist, who began his journey with art since his childhood, raised a state of sadness on the communication sites in Egypt, after he appeared with a rare disease that made him walk on crutches and seek help in his treatment.

The artist spoke to Al-Arabiya.net, saying that he had disappeared since 2006 after discovering that he had a rare disease, and doctors diagnosed him as multiple sclerosis, which is one of the immune diseases, and affects impotence, immobility, loss of ability and imbalance, adding that he disappeared and stopped working. Because of his inability to control himself and the muscles of his body and his permanent fall to the ground.

He added that he continued to be treated throughout that period until he spent everything he owned and sold his car and apartment to spend on his very expensive treatment, adding that his family is currently in charge of spending on him, especially since the amount of the monthly pension he receives from the Actors Syndicate, which is equivalent to 40 dollars, is not enough for anything.

The young artist revealed that the union sent him a delegation a few days ago to follow up on his condition and try to raise his morale, stressing that he accepts God’s judgment and is satisfied with what befell him, and thanks his mother who stands beside him.

The young artist said that he cannot eat with his hand because of his illness and cannot hold a spoon, so his mother feeds him and helps him take his medicine, asking his followers and lovers to pray to God to overcome his illness and face his ordeal.

Amr Muhammad Ali began his artistic career as a young child in the mid-eighties, and participated in more than 70 artworks between cinema and television.

The public knows him as the character “Shaqshaq”, which he performed in the events of the series “Arabesque” with the artist Salah Al-Saadani in 1994, and his last appearance was in the series Hadayek Al-Shaitan in 2006.

He participated in the films “The Thief of Joy”, “Mr. Karate”, “The Virgin and the Scorpion”, and the series “Crazy Tales”, “Eve and the Apple”, and “Raya and Sakina”.
