Dozens of people were killed and injured yesterday, Sunday, in a horrific fire that broke out in Abu Sefein Church in Imbaba, south of Cairo.

It was found that the fire started from the third floor of the church, and spread to the rest of the floors built over an area of ​​130 meters, and devoured most of the church’s contents, while dozens of people suffocated.

It is noteworthy that Meritia Emad had participated in The Voice Kids program, and excelled in singing the song “Less Nawi to Leave” by the artist Angham, confirming in previous statements that The Voice is a real leap in her artistic life.

In addition, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Egyptian Prime Minister, decided to pay urgent compensation to the families of the church’s victims and to restore its buildings, stressing that the state moved with all its organs, from the first moment and immediately, to combat the fire, stop it and limit its spread before it escalates.

Nevin Al-Kabbaj, Minister of Solidarity, announced that the state is in the process of fully reviewing the status of churches, especially the old ones, to prevent and avoid any new disasters.
