Many of you regretted the total absence of games from Xbox studios during the Game Awards 2022 which took place in December. Faced with the disappointment of the players, Aaron Greenberg promised that it would not be necessary to wait long before having news of the projects in progress within the Xbox Game Studios and it would indeed seem that an event is imminent.
An Xbox conference in early 2023?
If Xbox conferences usually take place during the summer with the period of trade shows such as E3 or Gamescom, Microsoft has also accustomed us to other speaking engagements such as Inside Xbox or even the XO annual.
In 2022, the firm was very discreet and many of us thought that an X022 would take place at the end of the year. In the end, that was not the case, but we could be entitled to an event in early 2023 instead. Several rumors in the hallway indicate that Microsoft could speak in the first quarter of 2023.

Turn 10 and Playground Games referred to the start of 2023 in their last speeches. This was the case last September when we were entitled to some information on Forza Motorsportand most recently in November when Playground Games discussed future content for Forza Horizon 5. “We are hard at work on the second expansion for Forza Horizon 5. You can expect to see it in early 2023. We will have more information to share after the start of the new year” had specified the studio.
Xbox must speak before E3!
As we know, the year 2023 promises to be exceptional for video games. This is especially the case for Xbox which has a lot of games in development and hardly released anything in 2022. The two big games planned for this year were to be Starfield et Redfall which were respectively expected for November and August, before being postponed to the first half of 2023.
During the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase which took place last August, Microsoft promised that all the games present would be released within the next 12 months. Among them, there was in particular Forza Motrsport 8 as well as other titles awaited by the fans. As a result, it seems essential that Microsoft speak before E3 to unveil the release dates of its games with great fanfare and start the year 2023 under the best auspices. The Xbox Game Pass games of 2023 are already many to have been confirmed.
