After the participation of the school unit in the educational program of the Humanitarian Organization KIDS SAVE LIVES – Children save liveson Saturday 2/11/2024 a Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in the presence of certified volunteer instructors of KIDS SAVE LIVES – The children save lives, the Director of the school unit, Ms. Elena Papachristopoulou, certified – in Basic Life Support (BLS-AED) – teacher of Ms. Evangelia Pappa’s school unit, teachers, students, parents and ordinary citizens.
The installation of the Automatic External Defibrillator was also attended by Mr. Nikos Athanasakopoulos, President of the Federation of Parents of Western Greece, member of the Secondary School Committee of the Municipality of Patras and President of the Cultural Association of Paralia Patras, the Presidents of the Associations of Parents and Guardians of the 10th GEL, Mrs. Antonia Papaleonidopoulou and of the 14th High School Mrs. Athanasia Galani Anagnostou.
The educational program of KIDS SAVE LIVES has been approved by the Ministry of Education, Religion and Sports for all schools in the country and is implemented after an application on the website of the Humanitarian Organization. In addition, they are granted without any financial burden, h free certification in the Basic Life Support of a teacher from each school unit and the application of Defibrillators and First Responders of the Community, «iSAVElives».
Attica Bank, in collaboration with the Humanitarian Organization KIDS SAVE LIVES, places 100 full SHOCK STATIONS in 100 selected schools, with the aim of providing SAFETY to thousands of students’ and teachers’ hearts.

**Ms. Papachristopoulou:** Thank you for having me! We are thrilled to have installed the AED at our school, following our participation in the KIDS SAVE LIVES educational program. This important initiative educates both our students and staff on lifesaving techniques, and having a defibrillator on-site significantly enhances our emergency preparedness.
**Interviewer:** What motivated you to implement the KIDS SAVE LIVES program at your school?
**Ms. Papachristopoulou:** The safety and well-being of our students and community is our top priority. The KIDS SAVE LIVES program, endorsed by the Ministry of Education, equips individuals with critical skills in Basic Life Support and AED usage. By training our students and staff, we empower them to act calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
**Interviewer:** Can you share what the installation event was like and who attended?
**Ms. Papachristopoulou:** The installation event was both enlightening and memorable. We had the honor of having certified volunteer instructors from KIDS SAVE LIVES present, along with parents, teachers, and community leaders, including Mr. Nikos Athanasakopoulos, the President of the Federation of Parents of Western Greece. It was a collaborative effort, and seeing the community come together to support this cause was truly inspiring.
**Interviewer:** How do you see the impact of this program on your students and the broader community?
**Ms. Papachristopoulou:** I believe the impact will be profound. Teaching students about CPR and AED usage not only prepares them to act in emergencies but also fosters a sense of responsibility and community awareness. We’re hoping to create a culture where everyone feels empowered to help one another, potentially saving lives in the process.
**Interviewer:** With technology like the AED becoming more accessible through initiatives like KIDS SAVE LIVES, what are your hopes for the future?
**Ms. Papachristopoulou:** My hope is that every school and community will be equipped with not just AEDs, but also the knowledge and confidence to use them. I envision a future where students and citizens everywhere know how to respond in emergencies, creating a safer environment for all.
