According to the Russian security services, a journalist and an influencer escaped an attack. They were allegedly organized by a neo-Nazi group, recruited by Ukraine.
The Russian security services (FSB) claimed on Saturday that they had prevented the assassinations of Margarita Simonian, one of the main voices of the Kremlin media machine, and Ksenia Sobchak, a famous influencer critical of the offensive in Ukraine.
In a press release, the FSB claims to have arrested, the day before, in Moscow and in the Russian region of Ryazan, members of a neo-Nazi group called “Paragraph-88” and recruited by the Ukrainian services, once morest payment, to kill these two targets.
AFP cannot confirm these allegations from an independent source.
Editor-in-chief of the RT television network, Margarita Simonian is one of the best-known faces of Moscow’s war on informationin parallel with the offensive in Ukraine.

Ksenia Sobchak is the daughter of a former mayor of Saint Petersburg, Anatoly Sobchak, who was Vladimir Putin’s mentor. She hosts a YouTube channel very popular in Russia and often critical of the authorities.
Mme Sobtchak did not hide his opposition to the attack in Ukraineend of February 2022. She has temporarily left Russian territory several times since the start of the conflict.
Attacks or assassination attempts now strike fairly regularly in Russia activists supporting the attack in Ukraine. Moscow accuses the Ukrainian authorities, but the latter deny or do not comment on these incidents.
