Al-Marsad newspaper: The Egyptian supervisory authorities are investigating the embezzlement of a charitable organization affiliated with the Ministry of Social Solidarity of the donation funds it received to build mosques in Egypt, where it was revealed that its leaders embezzled regarding 21 million pounds.

Alaa Ghorab, a leader in the “Al-Wafd” party and the author of the complaint once morest the association, accused the foundation’s leaders of seizing these funds that were spent on their wives and on buying luxury cars, private property and chalets.

During the oversight inspections, several financial and administrative violations were revealed, including that a senior official in the institution assigning the management of most of its activities and entities to his four wives.

It turned out that the Foundation “adopts” charitable projects that do not have a presence on the ground and is for them on Egyptian satellite channels, according to Al Arabiya.

Alaa Ghorab, the author, explained, “In a few years, one of its leaders showed signs of extreme wealth without a legitimate source for that. It turned out that this leader owns dozens of luxury cars in his name and the names of his wives, real estate, properties, apartments and chalets in the most famous tourist areas, and even a large hotel.” .

The regulatory authorities monitored, in the association’s activity, financial violations amounting to 21.8 million pounds, represented by the claim of purchasing equipment, supplies and furniture under the pretext of distributing them to deserving people, as well as buying a quantity of palm under the pretext that it was planted on the land of the association’s property, but it was proven that most of these things were sold for the benefit of the leaders of the institution.
