An arsenal discovered in a house in Bouge: 2 incouples deprived of their freedom!

It is a veritable arsenal that was discovered in Bouge route d’Hannut this Thursday, February 16: grenades, 23 long guns of the Kalashnikov type, 5 handguns and a large quantity of ammunition. This information was revealed this morning by the newspaper L’Avenir.

An imposing police force was deployed around 1 p.m. on Thursday: vehicles from the Namur federal judicial police, civil protection and army mine clearance therefore headed for a house on the road to Hannut. The police searched the home and the area around the house. Half of the arsenal was discovered hidden in the dwelling and the other half buried in the garden, more precisely in an embankment.

This search followed an investigation of several weeks conducted by an investigating judge.

Two people were deprived of their liberty. They were interviewed this morning by the judicial police. Two arrest warrants were issued. The investigation is in progress and aims in particular to determine the nature of this traffic: organized crime or terrorism?

The Press Magistrate Etienne Gaublomme confirmed this followingnoon ” the investigation will have to determine what was the objective of this possession of arms and ammunition: arms trafficking for the purpose of profit? Link to organized crime? Terrorism or the extreme right? This is yet to be determined. But the two people who were interviewed by the investigators are not very cooperative”
