Saudi Arabia and Iran announced today that they had reached an agreement to resume diplomatic relations between them and to reopen their embassies and representations within a maximum period of two months.

The agreement to resume relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran was welcomed by the Arabs and the international community.
Today, Friday, the Sultanate of Oman welcomed The joint tripartite statement issued by Saudi Arabia and Iran And China regarding the resumption of Saudi-Iranian diplomatic relations.
In their statement, the three countries thanked the Sultanate of Oman and Iraq for hosting previous talks.
In this context, Iraq welcomed the resumption of relations between Riyadh and Tehran. The Iraqi News Agency quoted the Iraqi Foreign Ministry as saying that the agreement would open “a new page of diplomatic relations between the two neighboring countries.” The Iraqi Foreign Ministry considered that the resumption of relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran gives a qualitative impetus to cooperation in the region.

The Gulf Cooperation Council also welcomed the resumption of Saudi-Iranian diplomatic relations, and the Gulf Cooperation Council expressed its hope that the Saudi-Iranian agreement would contribute to enhancing security and peace.
For its part, the United Arab Emirates welcomed the agreement to resume diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, appreciating at the same time the role of China, and affirmed its belief in the importance of positive communication and dialogue between the countries of the region to consolidate the concept of good neighborliness.
The Jordanian Foreign Ministry did not miss the occasion, as it welcomed the resumption of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and expressed its hope that the Saudi-Iranian agreement would contribute to strengthening security and stability in the region, and would preserve the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their internal affairs.
In turn, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement: “We welcome the agreement reached between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iran in Beijing on March 10, which provides for the restoration of diplomatic relations. We congratulate Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on this important step that they took in line with the normalization processes that prevailed.” The Middle East region has been around for some time, and we believe that this progress in relations between the two countries will contribute greatly to the security, stability and prosperity of our region.”
In addition, Algeria announced its welcome to the return of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the reopening of the embassies of the two countries in the coming weeks.
The statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad expressed Algeria’s satisfaction with the positive atmosphere that characterized the talks that took place between the two brotherly countries under the auspices of the friendly People’s Republic of China.
The statement said that this important agreement will enable the two countries and the two brotherly peoples to strengthen relations of cooperation and solidarity within the framework of adhering to the principles stipulated in the United Nations Charter and resolving differences through dialogue, which will contribute to strengthening peace and security in the region and the world.
Similarly, today, Friday, the Palestinian presidency welcomed the Saudi-Iranian agreement to resume relations between the two countries.
The Presidency appreciated the positive Chinese role that contributed to reaching this agreement, hoping that this would lead to stability and strengthening of the positive climate in the region.
In turn, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation welcomed today the agreement of Saudi Arabia and Iran to resume diplomatic relations, and expressed the hope that the agreement would give a new impetus to cooperation between the members of the organization.
The organization’s general secretariat said on Twitter that the organization welcomes the agreement to resume diplomatic relations “between the two big countries”, activate the security cooperation agreement between them, and the cooperation agreement in the field of economy, trade, investment, technology, science, culture and sports.
The Secretary-General of the organization, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, expressed his hope that this step would contribute to strengthening the pillars of peace, security and stability in the region.
Today, Bahrain welcomed the agreement between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and the Bahraini Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it hopes that this agreement will constitute a positive step on the road to resolving differences and ending regional conflicts through dialogue and diplomatic means. The statement praised “the leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting security, peace and stability, and pursuing diplomacy in settling regional and international disputes.”
In turn, the Arab Parliament welcomed the resumption of Saudi-Iranian relations. In a statement today, Parliament stressed the importance of this step in order to restore stability in the Arab region, and to strive to resolve the outstanding crises, expressing its hope that it would also contribute to easing the existing tension and achieving safety for the peoples of the whole world.
For its part, Egypt announced that it is following with interest the agreement to resume diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and looks forward to it contributing to easing tensions in the region. In a statement issued by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Egypt expressed its aspiration for the agreement to contribute to easing tension in the region, to strengthen the pillars of stability and to preserve the capabilities of Arab national security, and the aspirations of the peoples of the region for prosperity, development and stability.
