Yesterday, the Criminal Court of the Ras Al Khaimah Courts Department examined a criminal case in which a number of accusations were brought once morest a young man of Arab nationality, most notably sending threatening messages to the victim, of Gulf nationality, using an information technology means, sexual harassment, and deliberately causing inconvenience to the victim, Exploiting the services and devices of the telecommunications network in abuse and inconvenience, and the court reserved the case for judgment.
In its memoranda of opinion, the Public Prosecution excluded the crime of indecent assault, the crime of electronic hacking, the crime of oral threat, the crime of endangering the crime and the crime of keeping the victim’s photos.
In the criminal court session, lawyer Hanan Al-Bayed Al-Shamili presented several defenses once morest the accused, the most important of which are the lack of availability of the elements of the crimes referred to, the contradiction of the victim’s statements, the lack of evidence, and the victim’s inaction in reporting, which resulted in the Public Prosecution ruling out most of the accusations brought by the victim.
