With the new HerzFit app from the German Heart Foundation, you can not only determine your personal heart age, it also serves to prevent cardiovascular diseases, gives tips and provides a lot of information regarding heart health. Data protection is at the top of the list.
Health data such as blood pressure, heart rate, LDL cholesterol, long-term blood sugar and weight can be logged in the HerzFit app, some of which can even be transferred from other apps. A risk calculator can be used to determine your own heart age and risk of cardiovascular disease. The personal profile and the data are only saved on the mobile phone and can be deleted at any time; Third parties cannot see them.
But that’s not all: in addition to the “Measure” area, the app also offers an “Improve” area. Here you will find, for example, suggestions, practical tips or tasks to get a better grip on your lifestyle and to set goals. Concrete instructions help to counteract heart disease as early as possible. “The app thus motivates people to lead a healthy lifestyle through regular exercise, heart-healthy nutrition and the avoidance of psychosocial stress,” said Prof. Dr. Heribert Schunkert, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the German Heart Foundation. In the “Learn” area you will also find a lot of information, videos and podcasts that are checked and continuously updated by cardiologists.
The HerzFit app is available free of charge in the usual app stores. More information regarding the app and its functions can be found at www.herzstiftung.de/herzfit-app.
