an Annual Pass at 1.95 euros?

The absurd offer presented as coming from the SNCF

We would have hoped that the SNCF would not have to confirm that the offer does not exist, it is so absurd. According to publications on social networks, including Facebook, the carrier has launched a new offer. This would be a network-wide annual pass that offers unlimited travel. And if this offer does not actually exist, it might very well see the light of day one day.

What can only put the chip in the ear is the advertised price. Neither 5,000, nor 1,000, nor 500 euros but… 1.95 euros. Per year (or per month? it’s not clear), per person, for an unlimited number of trips. That’s less than the price of a hamburger at McDonald’s, a seed bun or two liters of gasoline. Suffice to say that it is not possible… unless the SNCF has suddenly decided to scuttle itself economically.

A scam to steal bank details

To better attract victims, the scammers have put forward a photo of the “Max active +” card. Intended for professionals and employees, it allows several round trips between two destinations each week. But the prices are far from a few euros. Depending on the routes, it will take several thousand euros per year (usually supported by the company). And that only applies to a well-defined journey.

Of course, the 1.95 euro offer is a scam. What the SNCF also confirms to 20 Minutes. And the goal is simple: steal bank details. Because to benefit from this fake offer, you have to fill out a form and insert the banking information. It doesn’t take more for scammers to then misuse them…
