An animation dedicated to the prevention of cancer

On the occasion of the national Pink October operation which, each year, raises public awareness of the risks of breast cancer, Audrey Chochard-Douls, Asalée nurse, in collaboration with Jade Celli, liberal midwife in Saint-Affrique and Millau , organized Tuesday, October 18, a free animation on the theme: knowledge and prevention of breast cancer and the means to identify the symptoms.

Practical exercises

In the premises of the nursing home, during this morning, Jade and Audrey led a workshop during which women of all generations learned or reviewed the gestures of self-examination and discussed the various aspects of this cancer, the signs to look out for, appearance of a lump, change in size, shape or appearance of the breast, discharge, appearance of a lump or bulge in the armpits. So many elements to report as soon as possible to your attending physician. They also answered questions regarding risk factors: heredity, age, lifestyle, the usefulness and frequency of mammograms, additional examinations and treatments, surgery, radiotherapy and chemo.

This type of workshop, which might be extended to the prevention of uterine cancer, will be repeated in the future with a more specific orientation aimed at younger generations.
