The platforms signed an agreement, Thursday, April 20, in France with the representative bodies of independent two-wheeled delivery people to guarantee them a minimum hourly income set at 11.75 euros, according to a press release from the National Federation of Autoentrepreneurs and Microentrepreneurs (FNAE).
“These first agreements enshrine social dialogue and constitute real progress in favor of strengthening the rights of delivery workers”rejoiced over Twitter the Minister of Labor, Olivier Dussopt.
The representative bodies of VTC drivers (passenger vehicles with driver) had already signed an agreement in January with the platforms to establish a minimum income per race – and not hourly – in the amount of 7.65 euros.
In total, three agreements on different subjects were submitted for signature on Thursday, one on income, the other on the deactivation of a delivery person’s account, the third on social dialogue.
As far as income is concerned, it is “an immediate gain for delivery people, of whom at least 20% are below this threshold”welcomed Grégoire Leclercq, president of the FNAE, who signed the agreement.
Account Deactivation Agreement
Union-Indépendants union “consult the delivery men and women on the minimum hourly guarantee” but has signed the agreement which makes it possible to better regulate the terms of termination of the commercial relationship between the platforms and the deliverers (known as “deactivation” of the account or “disconnection”), he said in a press release.
The FNAE has also signed this agreement on the deactivation of accounts. “While the disconnections were until then at the unilateral initiative of the platforms”the agreement provides that the deliverer may report incidents himself, in particular with customers, must be informed of the occurrence of incidents by the platform and may “to defend oneself and contest the motives” disconnection, details the FNAE.
Furthermore, this decision will have to be made “by a natural person and not an algorithm” and cannot happen ” without notice “ in cases where an administrative reason is invoked, added the FNAE.
The Association of Independent Platforms (API) – which brings together Deliveroo, UberEats and Stuart in its delivery commission – signed on Thursday “three new chords”, she welcomed by press release. Those on income and disconnection, as well as“a method agreement to strengthen the means of representatives and the quality of social dialogue”.
“These agreements are part of the sectoral social dialogue set up by the public authorities in recent months and will therefore be applicable to all matchmaking platforms in the delivery sector”recalled the API.
