Amsterdam, Anne Frank statue defaced with “Gaza” inscription –

The Anne Frank statue in Amsterdam has been defaced with red ‘Gaza’ writing, the Jerusalem Post reports, citing Dutch politicians who photographed the defacement and posted it on X. “Shameful,” wrote Stijn Nijssen of the city council, “to draw attention to the Palestinian cause by defacing the Holocaust memorial in the Rivierenbuurt neighborhood park.”

“This young girl, brutally murdered by the Nazis at the age of 15, reminds us and our city every day of humanity and kindness in the most difficult circumstances,” wrote Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema, adding that there is no excuse for such an act. The Israel Information and Documentation Center noted on social media that the vandalism of the statue is another example of “anti-Zionism.”
