The impact of the Egyptian artist Amr Diab’s concert did not fade, as the Lebanese audience is still discussing its content to this day, whether negatively or positively, especially following the renewed talk regarding a second return of the Egyptian star to revive a new concert in Lebanon.
In front of the Lebanese public’s interaction with the ceremony, the participants in the Festival of Joy, which lit up the night sky of Beirut, had feelings and words that may not sum up what they witnessed on the nineteenth of August, in front of more than 16,000 spectators. Among them is Dance Factory founder Mike Poladian, who still celebrates feelings of pride and joy following his expressive dance painting, which he performed in front of thousands.
Boladian reveals the scenes of his participation and 11 professional dancers belonging to the “Dance Factory” academy, and he says in an interview with “An-Nahar”: “One week before Amr Diab’s concert, we received confirmation of our participation, and it was officially agreed with us to present an expressive dance painting directed to the city of Beirut.” . And he continues: “The credit for completing our joy goes to the choreographer and one of the most important members of the jury of the “Dancing with the Stars” program, Rabih Nahas, who put his full confidence in me, and began cooperation between us to enter into an idea that translates many, many of the Beirut scene, which embodied her role in the artistic painting, Zeina. Assaf.
Bouladian agreed in a standard way with a group of professional Lebanese dancers to proceed with the implementation of what was agreed upon, and he explains: “Suggestions were launched, and ideas began to flow for our journey in love with Beirut. I admit that during the preparation period, we were feeling strange energy, despite the short period of time that put us in front of us. A challenge from us with great feelings.”
Bouladian, his partner Zina Assaf, and the members of the dance troupe took the stage, swaying to the beat of Nancy Ajram’s song “To Beirut the Female”, and they completed their expressive journey with the creator Rudge. Several, but with every resounding fall, he would rise and rise for life.
The biggest challenge was translating this patriotic story regarding Lebanon and Beirut through body language: “I felt moved when I noticed that the message reached through body language, with its accuracy, to the audience, who showed a beautiful interaction with the dance scene, which we presented to confirm the return of Beirut. And I admit that the tears betrayed me and I On stage, it was like a dream.”
For Bouladian, the impact of Amr Diab’s concert will remain valid, and he explains: “They used us as Lebanese dancers, and this is a recognition that what Lebanon possesses is valuable at all levels. We have proven that no matter what passes through Lebanon, it does not give up, but rather clings to hope to say to its people: No.” You leave me… I’ll be back.”
