Amount of their retirement, monthly reimbursements to the tax authorities… Patrick and Isabelle Balkany reveal their lifestyle

Caught up by justice for laundering tax evasion, the Balkany spouses keep a comfortable retirement.

Justice took back their riad in Marrakech and their villa in the West Indies. After years at the head of the town hall of Levallois-Perret, Patrick and Isabelle Balkany now live in their mill, in Giverny, of which they recently had the usufruct confiscated.

As a reminder, Patrick Balkany was also released from prison last August following a fraud carried out for tax evasion. The former elected official had spent six months in Fleury-Mérogis prison in Essonne since last February.

But the couple remain bitter. “When you are prevented from working, when you are forced to leave your city, the one you took care of for forty years, probably better than your own children, what do you have left? Our life is were our mandates. We do not redo a career at my age. We have time to piss off and wait for the end, “lamented Patrick Balkany to Paris-Match, quoted by Here is.

Monthly tax refunds

It must be said that the couple is over-indebted: they owe 12 million euros to the tax authorities. “They add interest each time … I’m not arguing, we reimburse” up to 2,000 euros per month, was content to comment on the former mayor of Levallois Perret.

The latter explained to live from his retirement as a deputy, while Isabelle Balkany has pensions as deputy mayor and general counsel. A total of 12,000 euros which remains, despite their debts to be recovered, very comfortable.
