In a statement received by Alsumaria News, the Directorate stated, “The driver must give several directives when driving when there is fog,” referring to these directives:
Check the mirrors
Slow down
Use wipers and keep the interior windows clear of fog
Increase the safe distance between you and the vehicle in front of you to four seconds instead of the recommended two-second period
Use fog lights, but avoid using high beams, because fog reflects light, which increases vision problems
Do not rely on the tail lights of the vehicle in front of you
If visibility is very limited, lower the windows to hear the sounds of cars driving around you
If visibility is almost non-existent, consider stopping until the fog clears.
