Al-Marsad newspaper: The World Health Organization revealed the countries with the highest death rate due to heart disease resulting from the use of trans fats in food.
The organization indicated, in a statement, that 9 out of 16 countries have the highest estimated rate of coronary heart disease deaths resulting from consuming trans fats.
She added that the 9 countries are: Australia, Azerbaijan, Bhutan, Ecuador, Egypt, Iran, Nepal, Pakistan and the Republic of Korea.
Industrially produced trans fats (also called industrially produced fatty acids) are commonly used in packaged foods, baked goods, and cooking and banquet oils.
