Gaza – 44 Palestinians, including children and women, were killed and others were injured in Israeli shelling that targeted several areas in the Gaza Strip since Friday morning.
This was reported by the spokesman for the Civil Defense Authority in Gaza, Mahmoud Basal, in a daily statistical statement in which he said that 44 Palestinians were killed in scattered Israeli raids on the Strip.
In detailing the outcome, Basal said that two Palestinians were killed in two raids in the northern Gaza Strip governorate, one of them targeting the home of the Abu Rabie family in Beit Lahia, and the second as a result of bombing a vehicle in the town of Beit, which also resulted in the injury of a number of others, which he did not specify.
In Gaza City, Basal said that 18 Palestinians were killed in about 6 separate raids, the first of which targeted the home of the Sheikh family in the Daraj neighborhood (east), killing 6, including 2 women, while 6 others were killed, including 3 children and 2 women, in a bombing that targeted the home of the “Abu Al-Hatal” family in the center of the city.
He continued: “A martyr also fell as a result of Israeli shelling of a group of citizens in Al-Shaaf Street (east), and a Palestinian was martyred in shelling of the Al-Zard family home (west) and a third in shelling in the vicinity of Al-Hurriya School in Al-Zeitoun neighborhood (southeast).”
A spokesman for the Civil Defense Authority said that 3 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli attack on a bus near the Abbas Junction, west of Gaza City.
In the central governorate, Basal reported that 10 Palestinians were killed in two raids. The first targeted a chalet housing displaced people, killing 9, including 3 children and 4 women. The second raid targeted a residential apartment west of the new market in the Nuseirat camp, killing one Palestinian and wounding others.
In the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, 14 Palestinians were killed in two raids. The first targeted the home of the Dhahir family (north), killing 13 people, including children and women. The second targeted a motorcycle in the Khirbet al-Adas area (north), killing a Palestinian and wounding others.
The Israeli air and artillery bombardment continues on various areas in the Gaza Strip, resulting in deaths and injuries.
With full American support, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, leaving more than 136,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amidst massive destruction and deadly famine.
In contempt of the international community, Israel continues the war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate halt, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
