The choice of the organizers to present at the conference Unit of Patras proves its high scientific level and its significant work which worthy competes with the services of the largest Bone Marrow Transplantation Units in the world.
An excellent video was filmed for the presentation of the Patras Unit, during which its people, as well as the people of the Volunteer Bone Marrow Donor Center (KEDMOP) “Give Life” and the Institute of Cellular Therapies present each stage of their work. The head of this project is the professor and director of the MMMO, the Hematology Clinic and the KEDMOP Alexandros Spyridonidis.
Through the descriptions and images they chose, they highlight the dynamics of the University of Patras, the University Hospital of Patras and our region in general.
We remind you that the Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit of the PGNP has the ability to accept and schedule patients for allogeneic, autologous transplantation, as well as the administration of cellular therapies (CAR-T cells).

MMMO now has six transplant beds and a day ward, increasing the capacity of the Unit to support a significantly increased number of treated cases. The fully renovated MMMO meets all the specifications required for long-term hospitalization in sterile conditions of vulnerable patients. The necessary special equipment was completely upgraded and supplemented, in order to ensure the qualitative improvement of the provided medical services. Particular emphasis was also placed on the creation of an aesthetically independent space, which will function as a supplement to the physical and psychological recovery of the patients. At the same time, MMMO provides free of charge an apartment near the hospital to patients during their post-transplant recovery stage.
