The Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC) decided, Friday, to revise upwards the maximum variation thresholds applicable to equity securities listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
This decision takes into account the current situation and the evolution of stock market indicators, explains the AMMC in a press release.
Also, from October 9, 2023, the maximum variation, upwards and downwards, in the price of an equity security during the same session cannot exceed 10% of the reference price for equity securities whose listing is in continuous mode and 6% of the reference price for equity securities whose quotation is in fixing mode, specifies the same source.
The AMMC will continue to vigilantly monitor the evolution of the Stock Exchange and will not fail to use the tools at its disposal in order to preserve the proper functioning of the capital market.
Regulatory authority of the Moroccan capital market, the AMMC’s missions are to ensure the protection of savings invested in financial instruments and the proper functioning and transparency of the capital market in Morocco.
A member of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) since 1996, the AMMC signed, in 2007, the multilateral exchange and cooperation agreement (Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding/MMOU) of the IOSCO making Morocco the 44th signatory country and the 3rd African country. Since February 2020, the Authority has also chaired the Africa Middle East Regional Committee (AMERC).
