Amma Rabie: The Fruit Seller Who Made a Generous Gesture Towards Gaza

2024-02-16 22:34:00

Youm7 TV broadcast special coverage regarding Amma Rabie, an Egyptian citizen who works in selling fruit, and he appeared in a video clip that did not exceed two minutes, leaving a good impression on the feelings of Egyptians towards the Palestinian issue, as he appeared spontaneously throwing fruit at a convoy that he knew was heading to Gaza until it reaches the Palestinians.

Rabie Abu Hassan’s uncle, a fruit seller, who threw part of his orange goods onto the relief trucks heading to Gaza as they passed by him, said: “Every day when I come back from work, I watch the news and follow our brothers in Gaza. I feel sad for them, and I feel like I am doing their best, and when they passed… In front of the trucks, I took handfuls of oranges and threw them on top of the trucks. I was happy, and I wished I had sold them the whole mattress.”

He continued, “The Egyptian people love the Palestinians, and always do good things and there is good in them. This is the least the Egyptian people can offer towards our people in Gaza, and I wish I had other needs to offer them.”

Rabie Abu Hassan’s uncle confirmed, “When I passed the trucks, I might not believe that I saw anything in their smell, and I threw as much as I might, and the people said to me: We are praying for you, and this made me very happy.”
