AMLO says that Claudia Sheinbaum advises him

MEXICO CITY.— President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and his virtual successor, Claudia Sheinbaum, held a private meeting with the heads of the Ministries of Finance and National Defense at the still unfinished Maya Train station in Cancún, as part of their third joint tour that began on Friday the 28th.

According to a note from the newspaper Reforma, which was picked up by Proceso, López Obrador was approached by representatives of the media, who questioned him regarding the recommendations he is giving to his successor.

“No, she gives me advice,” said the condescending president, following Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo said the day before that she has been learning and reading a lot on joint work tours.

The president said that the Maya Train, which covers 1,554 kilometers and had an investment of 500 billion pesos, is going “very well, (it is) a great work.”

Despite the huge investment and practically the entire six-year period of construction, the work remains unfinished, which is why during the tour, the virtual winner of the June 2 elections announced that she will continue the work.

Few people approached López Obrador and Sheinbaum, because the visit was not publicized. Among those who approached was a woman who asked the president to dedicate his book to her, and another person introduced himself as the former mayor of Tinum, Yucatán, with whom she took a photo following pointing out that she fulfilled the phrase “effective suffrage, no reelection.”

According to the newspaper’s description of the train station in Cancún, located 25 minutes from the city, despite the fact that it was inaugurated on December 15, two platforms do not have rails in the direction of Mérida, there are debris and shacks for workers, and the construction of an access bridge to the Cancún-Airport Station is still incomplete.
