AMLO on criticism after arrival of Cuban doctors

President Andrew Manuel Lopez Obrador criticized the opposition by disqualifications due to the arrival of Cuban doctorswhose first group is already in the state Nayarit.

At the morning conference National Palace, Lopez Obrador thanked the Cuban governmentheaded by Miguel Diaz-Canelfor having sent the doctors.

“I understand the anger of our opponents. It is that a transformation is taking place, it is not just anything, it is not more of the same and we are doing it in a peaceful way, without violence, ”he said.

“So, that there are criticisms and discrepancies, there must be, nothing by force, everything by reason and right and there we are moving forward, I am optimistic. For example, they did not like the fact that Cuban doctors were hired, I take this opportunity to thank the people and the Cuban Government your support,” he said.

The Mexican president explained that Cuban doctors are needed to meet the needs of the people, however, the ideology makes the “conservatives” reject the idea.

“But hopefully they understand that we need doctors to cure our people and that, regardless of the courage, of the alienation caused by ideology, conservative thought, with practical judgment, with objectivity, with the truth, they investigate so that they believe us. that we don’t have doctors, that we don’t have specialists,” he said.

“¿You think it’s going to affect me, that it’s going to demoralize meWhat is going to make a dent in my purpose of contributing to the transformation of Mexico? Of course not. The more they hit me, the more worthy I feel. So you don’t have to believe everything they say,” she explained.

On June 29, López Obrador announced that his government was seeking to hire doctors from Europe and Cuba to resolve the shortage of health personnel in public hospitals, despite criticism from the opposition.

The president made this announcement following the goal of covering almost 14,000 vacancies with the “Recruitment for specialist doctors” campaign that the Government launched at the end of May was not reached.

In a first stage, Cuba will send 500 doctors to Mexico following signing a health agreement that he signed on May 8 during his visit to Havana.
