The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, defended the now former president of Peru, Pedro Castillo. “We must recognize that he won democratically (Pedro Castillo) and that he cannot be removed. That this originally, even though it is in the Peruvian Constitution, has an undemocratic failure problem,” said the president. López Obrador was questioned regarding his government’s recognition of President Dina Boluarteto which he replied that “recognition does not exist in Mexican diplomacy (…) It is a doctrine of foreign policy in Mexico. Neither for better or worse does recognition of any foreign government exist in Mexico.”
