President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador made mention of Eugenio Derbez in the morning conference this Monday, but not to congratulate him for being part of the cast of CODA who won the Oscar award for Best Picture, but for claim him for being part of a Bell of a hotel that allegedly made plays on cenotes from Mayan Riviera.
“The Mayan Train is going to help people a lot because the maxim that Mexico is a rich country with a poor people applies here. We have great potential and it is where there is more poverty due to abandonment. When had the Federation allocated so many resources to a work like this? Never, so we are going to report more and more, being patient, although they will continue, ”he said.
For example, this Mr. Derbez participated in the inauguration of Xcaret, a hotel here, but those from Xcaret got permission to have a project here in cenotes, they connect cenotes, underwater rivers, and nobody said anything,” he said.
In the little more than hours that the morning conference lasted at the National Palace, the Mexican president congratulated Derbez for being part of the Oscar winners.

“CODA”, the winning film of Sundance 2021, surprised on Sunday night by winning the Oscar for Best Picture in awards that, however, were dominated by the science-fiction of “Dune”, which added six victories in the technical sections.

Derbez was part of the celebrities who appeared last week in the campaign “save me from the train” and for whose participation he was described as “pseudoambientalista” by the president Lopez Obrador.
That campaign arose due to the modification of Section 5 South of the train, which, they say, would destroy the largest underground river system in the world and with it flora and fauna.
They accused that the changes were made without consulting the public or carrying out the respective impact studies.
