The appointment was scheduled for November 25 in Mexico City.
On Monday, AMLO had already requested that the meeting be cancelled. “It is very likely that the meeting of the countries of the Pacific Alliance will be canceled because they did not give permission to attend the president of Peru, and then we are going to postpone or look for another option.is that I am the transitional or temporary president of that alliance and it is up to the president of Peru to receive the presidency, so if he does not come, who do I hand him over to?” he said AMLO in his Mañanera broadcast daily on social networks.
He maintained that one of the ways for the meeting to take place is for the meeting to take place in Peru; however, he added that this plan would have to be consulted.
“We might hold a meeting in Peru because I have to hand over the presidency to Pedro Castillo. That may be an option, do it there, but I have to consult. What I do not consider appropriate is to hold a meeting without the president who should receive the post being there ”, manifested AMLO.
