AMLO and Claudia Sheinbaum come to the defense of Rubén Rocha Moya

MEXICO CITY (EFE).— President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and his successor, Claudia Sheinbaum, insisted on their support for the governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, one month after the capture of Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, founder of the Sinaloa Cartel, and his former partner, Joaquín Guzmán López, in the United States, an incident in which the Sinaloa governor was linked.

Claudia said that the federal government’s support for the governor and the state of Sinaloa will continue during her administration, which will begin when she takes office as the next president of the Republic on October 1.

“We will continue to support Sinaloa because Rubén Rocha (the governor of the state) already had three years with the president (López Obrador), so now he will have three years with the president (Claudia). And we will continue to collaborate in everything that Sinaloa requires,” he said.

She also admitted to having a special affection for the northern state, because, she said, her husband is originally from Mazatlán, Sinaloa.

“So my heart is here in this state (of Sinaloa),” he said.

Meanwhile, López Obrador reaffirmed his support for the governor and promised to return to the state in the north of the country at the end of September, before his term ends, to inaugurate another irrigation district and a highway.

Rocha Moya defends himself

The governor of Sinaloa says that a “policy of humanism” is applied in Sinaloa.

With “integrity”

Rocha Moya defended the fact that he applies the “policy of Mexican humanism implemented by President López Obrador” in Sinaloa, and therefore assured that he governs with integrity and honorability. “We govern with integrity, with the honorability that the President has taught us,” he said.
