He continued, “There has been a misunderstanding recently with the Republic of Azerbaijan, and it has been resolved, and it was decided that I would visit Baku for the continuation of these meetings.”

Some sources indicate that the misunderstanding is related to the “Zangzor Corridor” and Azerbaijan’s intention to revive the project.

The “Zangzor Corridor” is a piece of Armenian land 43 km wide that extends to the Iranian border and forms the link between Armenia and Iran. On the other hand, however, it cuts communication between Azerbaijan and the autonomous province of Nakhchivan, which is located on the border with Turkey.

What Azerbaijan is seeking is a logistical corridor that includes highways and railways through the “Zangzor” region in order to link Azerbaijan with its lands located in the Nakhchivan region, and then Turkey, and according to its path it will be adjacent to the Iranian-Armenian borders.
