A group of professional and emerging musicians in the Gaza Strip presented various pieces of music in the presence of a wide audience of music lovers, during a ceremony held in the Orthodox Cultural Center in celebration of the International Music Day, which takes place on June 21 every year.
This performance marks the beginning of the celebration of the International Music Day in Gaza, where the emerging Oud Band tries to attract the audience gathered around it with pieces of Arabic music, spreading joy to the hearts of the listeners.
Ismail Daoud, leader of the Oud Ensemble, says, “As an emerging youth group at the Edward Said Institute for Ouds, and the first of its kind in Gaza today, the orchestra participates in World Music Day. This is a beautiful thing. The Edward Said Institute encourages youth groups to be always present.”
In the garden of the Orthodox Cultural Center in Gaza, various musical groups gathered to sing and play eastern and western melodies, according to the program of the Music Festival, which is held in open spaces with the aim of entertaining people with it for free.
For his part, Ayman Maghames, Director of the Delia Art Foundation, said, “What distinguishes this year’s Music Festival is that it is held in Gaza. Gaza needs music and joy. The Palestinian people are full of talents that the world should see.”

On the International Music Day, supporters of joy and music lovers in Gaza celebrate the playing of different types of internationally popular musical colors to create an atmosphere of festive interaction and civilizational mixing on the artistic and cultural level.
Amidst the celebration of music, the Palestinian rock band Osprey V presented a variety of pieces, with which the audience interacted remarkably.
