Amid public anger, Al-Ahly Jeddah extends coach Siboldi’s contract

Riyadh: Issa Al-Hakami

Al-Ahly Jeddah fans met with the news of the renewal of Uruguayan coach Robert Siboldi’s contract for one season and the announcement of the preparatory program for the new season in a state of anger over the decisions of the club’s management, whose first football team was relegated to the first division for the first time in its history.

The club’s account on its Twitter account on Sunday broadcast two news, the first announcing the renewal of Siboldi’s contract for one season, and the second setting up a preparatory camp in Turkey from the 22nd of this month until the tenth of August.

In their comments on the news, the fans wondered regarding the justification that the administration sees in renewing with a coach who failed to keep the team in the professional league.

Meanwhile, Al-Jeddawi club management is silent so far, while the sources confirm the existence of a mass of transfers that the team will witness in the coming days, starting with its star Abdul Rahman Gharib, who is close to victory in a loan deal for one season, with the transfer of players from the capital club towards Al-Ahly.

There were reports of young striker Haitham Asiri’s intention to move to a club in the professional league, and the fate of the professional players is still unknown, except for the late Macedonian Izjan Al-Yuski, to the Turkish Trabzon.
