During a tour of the state of Carabobo, the digital television station VPItv reported a large number of voters participating in the presidential election simulation called for today by the National Electoral Council (CNE) throughout the national territory. However, it also revealed complaints once morest the organization in the capital of Carabobo.
Residents of the municipality of San Diego iThey urged people to attend the event, including José Rodríguez, who from the Los Magallanes educational unit, one of the three centers set up for the Sunday simulation in the town of Carabobo, made “a call to the communities to come, exercise their right to vote and become familiar with the process that will take place on July 28.”
Gabriellys Colmenares and Ella Ventura also joined in, agreeing that the process was very fast and it took them no more than a minute to go through the machines. They stressed that they are already familiar with it and that is why “everything is easier.”
During the report, carried out by journalist Ruth Laverde, it was recalled that in Carabobo there are 70 centres prepared for the electoral simulation this Sunday.
In Valencia there were complaints once morest the organization of the drill
In the municipality of Valencia, where the Electoral Authority set up 10 centres, the situation was different, as some voters complained of poor organisation and people cutting in line where long queues of people wanting to try out the system were recorded.
This was the case of Freddy Vivas and Grecia Guevara, who had been outside their centre since 8:30 and, following four hours, had not been able to participate because of “a few smart people” and organisers who only urged them to wait.
In Naguanagua, VPItv was present at a press conference held by Mayor Ana González, who said that the drill was very fast and dynamic. “Mobility is guaranteed in the queues that people form here,” said the mayor.
In this jurisdiction, six voting centers have been set up that will operate until 4:00 pm or until there are still people in line.
Officials speak of a “massive event”
Through his social networks, the governor of Carabobo, Rafael Lacava, emphasized the “crowd participating” and that, when he passed through the horseshoe, the activity “flowed correctly.”
Likewise, media associated with the government spoke of a “massive event”, as they assured – without providing numbers – that it managed to mobilize a large part of the Carabobo voters.
It was learned earlier that the opposition, gathered in the Unitary Platform, would not participate in the simulation beyond the technical aspect.
In fact, it was revealed that their candidate, Edmundo González Urrutia, would not be attending any polling station. However, they agreed to urge anyone who wants to participate in the day to go to the centres and familiarise themselves with the electoral process.
