Amicable agreement for Team Canada: “It’s to vomit”, says Régine Laurent

Régine Laurent is repelled by the lack of sanction from Canada’s most prestigious hockey program in the face of allegations of gang rape by members of the national junior team in 2018.

“What message are we sending to our little boys? When you are a star in the National Hockey League, well you have the right,” says Ms. Laurent.

Very emotional, she explained to Paul Larocque on the show “Le Bilan” on Thursday why she is intractable in the face of rape.

“As a young nurse, I had a beneficiary attendant who worked with me, this girl had been the victim of gang rape at the Régates de Valleyfield. Despite all the support she had and even though she had returned to work and well five years later she committed suicide, she was no longer capable,” she said.

She does not understand why institutions or police forces do not want to investigate this case further.

“The victim who did not want to file a complaint, who did not want his name to be cited, I respect that, but I do not understand that this did not prevent Hockey Canada from sanctioning or filing a complaint with the police. What do we do with the criminal aspect? We wash our hands of it, ”says the ex-nurse.
