AMG PACKAGING offers a factory in Marrakech

AMG PACKAGING kicked off construction work on its agricultural and agri-food packaging production plant on April 12, 2023 in Marrakech. A project that will mobilize a total envelope of 266 million dirhams and will ultimately create 170 direct and indirect jobs.

The factory of the AMG PACKAGING companya subsidiary of italian group PRO-GEST will contribute to the transfer to Morocco know-how and technologies, according to a press release from the brand. The industrial unit will adopt environmentally friendly technologiesused by the Group in its factories in Europee. The project is an important milestone in the group’s expansion plans, since it will enable it to support its growth and improve its international positioning, according to the same source. The new plant will require a overall investment of 266 million dirhamsultimately allowing the creation of 170 direct and indirect jobs.

Present at the work launch ceremony, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, declared that “the AMG PACKAGING project is a concrete example of the ambitious industrial policy that we are carrying out in Morocco to strengthen national industrial sovereignty in general and that of the agro-food sector in particular and is conveniently part of the framework of the project that we have launched with operators in the agro-industry and supplier sectors to encourage local sourcing”. He added that cardboard paper packaging represents a significant share of imports of manufactured input purchases for the agri-food sector with an estimated amount of 1.35 billion dirhamswhich leads to a source of investment and undeniable opportunities in this constantly evolving market.
