The AMG division is gradually saying goodbye to the most powerful eight-cylinder models, which traditionally carried the digital designation “63”. The Mercedes-AMG S 63 and Mercedes-AMG C 63 have already been discontinued along with the original families, and the Mercedes-AMG E 63 W / S 213 series is retired ahead. A special version of the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4Matic + Final Edition has been released.

The sedan and station wagon are equipped with a 612 hp V8 4.0 biturbo engine. and all-wheel drive. Among the features of the final version are a matte gray body color, 20-inch wheels, decals on the doors and AMG logos on the C-pillars. The interior has a dark finish with contrasting yellow stitching. Comes with a branded AMG-case for storing the car. 999 sedan and station wagons will be produced.

Rechargeable hybrids will replace the traditional gasoline “sixty-third”. The first-born last year was the liftback Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance, in which the V8 biturbo engine works in tandem with an electric motor: peak power – 843 hp. According to preliminary information, the AMG version of the new S-class will have the same power plant. Well, the younger Mercedes-AMG C 63 will switch to four cylinders: a prototype of such a sedan in colorful camouflage was shown last weekend at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring race.

Under the hood of such a C-class, the M139l turbo four is longitudinally installed in the most forced version: approximately 470 “horses” were removed from two liters! It is aggregated with a nine-speed “automatic”, a 48-volt starter-generator is also provided. And on the rear axle is the same electrical module as the AMG GT liftback, which includes a 204 hp electric motor. with a separate two-speed transmission.

The promised peak output of the hybrid system is approximately 670 hp. and 750 Nm! Such C-classes will be all-wheel drive. The old Mercedes-AMG C 63 S was rear-wheel drive only, and the V8 engine produced a maximum of 510 hp. and 700 Nm. Of course, the new hybrid system will not give a gain in mass, but it will allow to lower the center of gravity of the car and achieve a more favorable weight distribution along the axes, shifting the focus to the stern. After all, the new four-cylinder engine weighs 160.5 kg – immediately 48.5 kg less than the previous V-shaped “eight”. The full debut of the most powerful C-class will take place in the coming months.
