German supermodel Heidi Klum obviously had a blast playing auctioneer.

The amfAR, American foundation against AIDS, raised nearly 16 million euros (15.5 million francs) at its annual gala Thursday in Antibes, on the Côte d’Azur. The evening, which is held each year on the sidelines of the Cannes Film Festival, brought together many celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio, who came to the Croisette to present Martin Scorsese’s latest film, “Killers of the Flower Moon”.

A portrait of the star actor, painted by British artist Damien Hirst and entitled “Beautiful Leonardo DiCaprio looking away”, was sold for 1.2 million euros during the auction organized during the evening. These alone totaled 7.4 million euros.

A brand new model of the British luxury car Aston Martin was sold for 1.5 million euros, while a collection of fashion creations, signed among others by Vivienne Westwood, Givenchy, Balmain or Armani, was sold half a million euros.

Hosted by rapper and actress Queen Latifah, the evening, which brings together hundreds of guests, brought together a slew of personalities, including actress Eva Longoria, models Heidi Klum, Helena Christensen and Alessandra Ambrosio and influencer Georgina Rodríguez.

First private association for the fight against AIDS created in the 1980s by Elizabeth Taylor, the foundation organizes this evening every year at Cap d’Antibes. Last year, the gala raised more than $19 million.

Works of art, including a portrait painted by Robert De Niro Sr., father of the American actor, a luxury trip to Iceland, as well as photos of models, were also sold.

Stars also paid tribute to Tina Turner, rock legend who died Wednesday at the age of 83. “She gave us everything we could want, and more, and we should just celebrate her (…) and continue to bring the love and light she brought,” Queen Latifah told reporters.
