The American Wyndham Clark beat Rory McIlroy with an even par 70 and won the 123rd US Open on Sunday at the Los Angeles Country Club and thus the first major championship of his career.
With a score of 10 under 270, Clark went one shot clear of the Northern Irishman who was looking to end his nine-year losing streak.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler (70) is third at 7-under, Australia’s Cam Smith (67) fourth at 6-under and Rickie Fowler batters a 75 and finishes at 5-under along with England’s Tommy Fleetwood (63) and Australia’s Min Woo Lee (67) in fifth place.
