American woman who accused Biden of sexual assault now seeks Russian citizenship

(AFP, Washington, 30th) American woman Tara Reade accused President Biden of sexual assault during the 2020 election. She appeared in Moscow today and said she was seeking Russian citizenship from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Reed, who briefly worked in Biden’s congressional office in 1993, said she wished she had stayed in Russia after a Republican lawmaker told her of the safety concerns.

Li De, 59, said in a streamed interview with Russian satellite news agency Sputnik that she came to Russia as a vacationer.

“When I got off the plane in Moscow, for the first time in a long time, I felt safe, heard and respected,” she said.

Li De claimed at the beginning of 2020 that in August 1993, then U.S. Senator Biden sexually assaulted the 29-year-old her in the corridor of Capitol Hill in August 1993, thus becoming the focus of the media.

Her allegations come as Biden gears up for the White House against former President Donald Trump, who is also facing allegations of sexual abuse and assault.

Biden categorically refuted the claim, saying “it’s not true. I say unequivocally that it never, never happened.”

Reed said she had filed a complaint but could not find a record of it.

However, court documents from 1996 show that Li De’s ex-husband mentioned that she had complained of sexual harassment while working in Biden’s office.

It was not immediately clear whether Li De’s allegations were ever formally investigated.

Li De, a self-proclaimed geopolitical analyst, said in an interview with the Russian Satellite News Agency that she has received threats since she publicly accused Biden of sexual assault in 2020. Some threatened to put her in prison, others threatened her personal safety, and others said She is a Russian spy.

Li De told reporters that she “has always loved Russia”.

“I don’t see Russia as an enemy, and neither do many of my fellow Americans,” Reed said.

“I would like to seek Russian citizenship from Russian President Vladimir Putin,” she added.

Reed said she “guarantees that she will be a good citizen,” adding that she, too, wants to retain her U.S. citizenship.
