American Representative: Giving Netanyahu more weapons is tantamount to condoning the destruction of Gaza

United States – US Representative Becca Balint confirmed yesterday, Friday, that granting the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu more weapons amounts to condoning the complete destruction of the Gaza Strip on the one hand, and a warning to fuel a regional war on the other hand.

This came in a statement published by Balint on her account on the X platform.

The Democratic representative added: “The United States must be firm in demanding that Netanyahu correct course.”

She added: “I will vote ‘no’ on sending more offensive weapons to Israel.”

She stressed that “giving the Netanyahu government more weapons amounts to condoning the complete destruction of Gaza on the one hand, and a warning to fuel a regional war on the other hand.”

Earlier Friday, the American Wall Street Journal reported that the administration of President Joe Biden is preparing for a new arms sale deal to Israel worth $1.3 billion.

The Wall Street Journal based its news on American officials, whose names or positions were not mentioned, who said that Washington continues its military support for Israel without interruption.

The American newspaper added that the Biden administration is preparing to approve a new arms sales package with a total value of $1.3 billion, which includes tank ammunition, military vehicles, and mortars.

She explained that if the potential sale deal is achieved, this deal will be one of the largest military support deals that the United States has provided to Israel since October 7, 2023.

She pointed out that the latest deal comes outside the framework of the $26 billion support package to Israel, which the US Congress is currently studying.

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip with American support, leaving tens of thousands dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly, according to Palestinian and UN data.

Israel continues the war despite the issuance of an immediate ceasefire resolution by the Security Council, and despite its appearance before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing “genocide” against the Palestinians.
