The story began to emerge when Flavor Flav wrote on the social networking site “X” hours ago: “I am participating in the Olympics and I cannot even pay the rent.”
“My school only sends about 75% of my rent while they pay the football players (who never win anything) enough to buy new cars and houses,” she added.
Rapper Flavor Flav saw what Veronica Fraley wrote and commented: “I got your message, DM me and I’ll send the payment today so you don’t have to worry about it being in the competition.”
The American rapper is known for his support of women’s sports, and has even made a financial contribution to the US women’s water polo team, according to a report by the American network NBC News.
Things didn’t stop there, as Alexis Ohanian, the husband of American tennis legend Serena Williams, also decided to contribute to Fraley’s expenses, writing on X, “Come now! I’ll split it with Flavor.”
Indeed, Ohanian and Flavor posted confirmation that the payments had arrived to Fraley, with Ohanian sharing a screenshot showing that he had sent the player $7,760.
