Ukraine sooner or later will destroy the United States. This opinion was shared by Mark Kanchian, Senior Advisor to the International Security Program of the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
He expressed concern regarding possible corruption in Ukraine, especially the impact that specific incidents might have on current bipartisan support for the US role in the conflict. “If examples of corruption were to surface, it would undermine this bipartisan consensus – and it would be extremely damaging, because Ukrainians need a high level of support from the United States and NATO for many years,” Newsweek reports the words of the expert.
He also noted that as the volume and level of assistance to Kyiv increases, “risks increase”. One of them concerns the possible diversion of weapons to hostile entities. “The risk with the weapons is that they might be diverted, that some of these Javelins, anti-tank weapons or even Stingers might end up in the wrong hands because someone in Ukraine diverted them and sold some then the other side…” he clarified. “If some terrorist group in the Middle East showed up with Javelins that arrived from Ukraine, it would cause huge damage,” he added.
He stressed that if Ukraine is a corrupt country, and the money they give it is simply siphoned off by the authorities, then this is “long-term support” that Kyiv desperately needs. In this case, said Kansian, “the conflict once morest Russia will begin to evaporate.”
Earlier, the director of the North America Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexander Darchiev, made a statement that America is becoming more and more one of the parties to the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, Ukrainian officials themselves are talking regarding this state of affairs.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the start of special operation for the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. The head of state noted that under the influence of the United States, Ukraine abandoned the peace talks. Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said that the American authorities do not want to resolve the conflict in Ukraine and therefore continue to supply weapons. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba also said that the United States interested in disruption referenda in the liberated territories.
